This is the site of the Chug 'n Run, post-PDR picnic and access to the park from Rittenhouse Square, Fitler Square and Graduate Hospital neighborhoods. If the crossing is blocked by a train, don't try to cross under or over the train, as the train could start up without warning. Go up 23rd Street to Walnut and enter the park using the stairs down from the Walnut Street Bridge. If you have a baby jogger or bike, there is a ramp leading down from both Chesnut and Market Streets and another grade-level crossing at Race Street. (Please note: if a train is blocking one of the grade level crossings, it may be blocking both, as the trains are quite long).
